About me

I'm Lauren, a 20- something recent college grad who is rapidly gaining experience in the worlds of PR and Soical Media.

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, where I currently reside. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in the Advertising/ Marketing field. When I got to college, I didn't hesitate to declare my major in Advertsing/Public Relations.

While searching for an internship during the first semester of my senior year at the University of Central Florida, I stumbled upon an Orlando-based Public Relations firm and sent in an application for their internship program with absolutely no hope that I would ever be selected. Luckily, I was.

After falling head-over-heels in love with Public Relations during my internship, I got hired as an Account Executive/ Social Media Specialist at Bitner/Hennessy Public Relations following my graduation from UCF. I cannot stress enough how much I love what I do.

I decided to start The Social Life on a whim. Inspired by my boss, who also started a blog, I thought it would be nice to share my experiences in PR and Social Media with other young people (or anyone else who's interested!) So far, it's been a great way to share what and how I'm learning as I continue to grow in my profession.
